zMy husband and I came in on a Sunday which was Father's Day. we wanted some Ox tails. we got oxtails red beans and rice Cat fish and shrimp collard greens Mac and cheese yams string beans. let me tell you. something. everything was Buzzin!!!! It was really a Touch of Soul. Ms. Kim

Great food choices and great service. Classic soul food was cooked perfect and the portions were great. All of the soul food classics, as well as sides. Greens were great, yams on point, and Ox Tails were tender and flavorful. Gotta try some dessert next time. Don't miss this Oakland staple.

Food was tasty! Service was wonderful. We came late to celebrate my aunts 77th birthday, the staff was packing up to leave; however they allowed us to eat dinner and gave us time to sing and enjoy birthday cake!

TOUCH OF SOUL IS THE BEST SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT IN OAKLAND. I love everything about this restaurant, but I especially love their fish. The fish is prepared perfectly; not oily or overly breaded with little fish. Also their cornbread is amazingly fluffy and buttery. I love coming here when I don't feel like cooking or don't want to cook a lot. They have daily specials everyday so you definitely are getting your money's worth! Also the customer service is superb. They are always so kind to everyone and willingly help when I have inquires on anything listed on the menu. The ambiance is nice as well! They just moved to a new location, a total upgrade. It's modern looking and always kept so clean. Please visit!!!!! You will not regret it.

Just as I remember it. This food is so damn good, taste just like something cooking in your granny kitchen. The server was nice and attended to me quickly. The portions for the price is insane. I got the smothered chicken $17. It came with 3 sides and cornbread. But they gave me 3 pieces of chicken as well. I spoilt it into two meals. I also got some catfish. They still offer kool-aide which gets me every time. The mac a little dry but it's still hella good. I wouldn't change a thing. So much flavor.
